Carol Marra has collaborated with the Government Architect NSW to enhance delivery of the NSW State Design Review Panel (SDRP), reviewing state significant projects, including schools, hospitals, precincts, transport, residential and commercial developments.

The SDRP is responsible for reviewing up to 200 projects per year and Carol was tasked with streamlining internal processes to ensure consistency across the program as it expands, by establishing clear and concise ‘design language’.

Carol is also frequently called upon by state agencies to lead Design Assurance reviews of their projects. This work involves the understanding of complex facilities to provide design advice that is clear, actionable and delivers better outcomes for projects and the public. Carol is well regarded for her ability to work collaboratively and productively with diverse project teams, maintaining an awareness of agency-specific needs, while finding opportunities for design improvements through the design review process.

Ken Yeh was invited by Blue Mountains City Council – as a subject matter expert – to help create a strategic pathway to zero emissions for the community. Ken’s expertise in systems thinking was particularly well received and assisted Council to holistically consider and respond to multiple complex and sometimes competing carbon reduction strategies.

Marra + Yeh Architects has been working in close collaboration with Dubbo Regional Council on the masterplan and housing strategy for the Dubbo North West Precinct. This precinct will set a new benchmark for environmental and social considerations within the built environment.

We are open to working with governments and their agencies at all levels – local, state and Federal – to provide high level and specialist advice around sustainable and low-carbon built environment projects, policies, pathways and strategic planning.

Please get in touch with us to discuss your specific requirements and to see how we can contribute.

“Thanks so much for supporting us from a review panel perspective, I thought your line of questioning and comments were very helpful, and exactly what we’re looking to unpack in these reviews to support our project teams as they progress through their design activities.”
