We create beautiful ecological architecture, bringing people in harmony with nature
About
Not ones to shy away from a challenge, we take on projects that want to shift the needle on sustainability, climate adaptation and regenerative environments.
We work on projects from the city to the bush to the outback and remote areas, crafting homes, housing, masterplans and community buildings. We also provide design advice and expertise to local and state government.
Originally from Argentina and Malaysia, Carol and Ken studied in the USA, settling in Sydney and establishing Marra + Yeh in 2005.
Making the cut at a top ten US university has made us the “Swiss army knife” of architects – we bring you:
design and sustainability expertise
strategic thinking
materials science, technical and construction knowledge
the ability to manage projects from start to finish.
Our pain is your gain.
Our diverse lived experiences and cultural backgrounds help us understand what’s special about you – to create architecture that’s beautiful, sustainable, climate-ready and one-of-a-kind.
We go beyond the traditional role of architects and partner with you to help you succeed.
Because the built environment is complex and challenging – we are here to guide you, collaborate, find solutions and create places that meet your challenges.
We bring clarity to complexity and uncover hidden possibilities, through a clear and holistic approach.
We design for climate and design for change, ensuring your project is sustainable, regenerative and low-carbon.
Homeowners – sustainable homes that are beautiful, connected to nature and unique to you.
Housing providers, Community & Commercial developers – masterplans and housing strategies incorporating diversity, appropriate density and sustainability
Government and public agencies – design review, strategic and technical advice
Arts & Creative organisations – spaces for culture, making and exhibitions
Based in Sydney and the Blue Mountains, we take on urban, regional and remote area projects throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
“Thanks for the good and simple design…there are no redundancies, and we can use this model of housing for our workers repeatedly, giving them a good living and healthy environment”
