Architectural acupuncture was the approach to this small house for a young couple who desired good design within a tight budget and short timeframe. Working hands-on in collaboration with our builder, we turned a poorly built house into a home the owners can grow into. Security concerns gave rise to architectural opportunities such as the birdcage and vented grilles, opening both front and back to minute gardens, encouraging cross ventilation and letting the space leak outwards.
Redundant structure was used to increase the floor area within the existing envelope, maximising space at minimum cost.
Lighting and interior detailing bring serenity, comfort and delight in contrast to the chaos that is Kuala Lumpur.
