Eco-Resort at Marudu-Bay

Located in an environmentally sensitive area of Sabah including a shallow bay and a mangrove the site is bounded by the main highway on one side and the beach on the other. Public infrastructure is not available and therefore the resort must be autonomous, generating its own electricity, harvesting rainwater and processing all waste on site.

Facilities include 60 chalets, lobby, restaurant & lounge, natural pool, staff quarters and a mangrove boardwalk. The masterplan is conceived as a journey, orchestrating the movement of guests to carefully reveal the sequence of events – from entry to check-in, via the mangrove towards the beach.
